Press Release:

Rehab Hospital Saves $110,000+
Using Alliance Cost Containment
by Max Friar, Business Devlopment Manager, Alliance Cost Containment

The cost-saving techniques of Alliance Cost Containment apply
across virtually all business types, including health care
providers. ACC affiliates recently completed an engagement
with a $21 million rehabilitation hospital that has been under
pressure to reduce costs as medical insurance reimbursements
continue to decline. This not-for-profit healthcare facility,
with one main campus and two satellite campuses, engaged ACC
to examine ten expense areas: computer equipment, food services,
janitorial, maintenance, medical supplies, office supplies,
payroll services, printing, temporary staff, and waste removal.
Across all facilities, the annual spend in these areas was
approximately $2.1 million, and crossed 130 suppliers.

The Operations Manager, as well as the Chief Financial Officer,
both noted that they had concerns about the medical supply
expenses and office supply expenses increasing significantly
over the past year. As new programs are being added, these
areas continue to consume larger portions of the overall budget.
The Operations Manager noted that. "We can definitely
use some help in these areas so we can focus on other priorities
such as insurance reimbursement." The ACC process revealed
that the dedicated focus and the concentration on details
was a luxury they could not afford internally.

ACC worked with their incumbent suppliers as well as alternate
suppliers to deliver meaningful savings in the targeted areas.
Additionally, the client received the piece-of-mind knowing
that they are getting the best pricing available, which has
helped the staff to work on the major initiatives relating
to their core functions.
