Press Release:

Alliance Cost Containment Saves $65,000+ for Farming Operation

by Max Friar, Business Development Manager, Alliance Cost Containment

Article:

The cost-saving techniques of Alliance Cost Containment apply across virtually all business types, including agricultural enterprises.  In a recent project, we helped a thoroughbred horse farm save $65,145 through a disciplined review of expenses and targeted cost-reduction efforts.

After reviewing all suppliers, our client engaged us to review expenses from approximately 120 suppliers accounting for $1.25 million in annual expenses.  Our analysis revealed opportunities in five principal areas – equipment & maintenance, medical supplies, telecommunications, fuels & gases and transportation.  While the farm has a strong reputation for cost control, they recognized that our fresh perspective and national purchasing relationships might bring added value to their savings campaign.  The client’s stated goal was for Alliance Cost Containment to help them find the savings opportunities they might have missed.

The results of our campaign yielded several pockets of additional savings.  Equipment & maintenance costs were reduced $12,000 (an average of 29.5%), medical supply expenses were trimmed almost $10,000 (averaging 4%), telecom was reduced $7,400 (28.5%), transportation costs were reduced $23,750 (11.9%), and fuels & gases were trimmed $9,380 (7.8%).  Most of these cost reductions came from price reductions by and consolidation of existing suppliers, resulting in quick implementation of the new savings.   Continued monitoring by ACC will ensure the delivery of these savings in the months to come. Regardless of your business type, the ACC process can provide savings for your company, too.
